May

It has almost been a month since I posted last.  It has been an incredibly busy May and I figured I would cover all the highlights from this month in one post. Sorry if you feel I have abandoned you readers - I think about you often. ;-)

First things first, my Micah turned 8 years old this month.  It was a pretty special birthday too because he was baptized on the same day. We are pretty proud of our little guy.  He has a tender heart and and cried tears of joy when he was baptized, it was so sweet. It was a really special day for us.

We had a lot of family in town for the baptism so we had a barbecue and pool party to celebrate.  Micah figured it was the best birthday ever.  I think so too!  One I won't soon forget.

This month's rain was welcome since we are in a drought, so that means the clouds put on quite a show.  If you follow me on Instagram (@judiakagreenfairy) you will see how much I appreciate clouds. ;-)

May also meant that I would be teaching at HMQS in Salt Lake City.  This is a shot of the incredible Rocky Mountains as I was driving to the venue one morning (don't worry I clicked the camera button from memory).  I am so grateful to all of you who came to my classes, I met so many wonderful quilters there.

I also turned 34 during the show.  I was feeling a little down and out before my first class because I really wanted to be with Clint and the kids. My April schedule was pretty busy, which made me feel extra homesick. So, when my students started singing Happy Birthday to me before my the start of my first quilting class, I started to cry.  I realized that I am so blessed and even though I wasn't with family, I was with people who care about me and share a love of quilting with me. I can't thank you enough for making me feel so special.  Really, thank you so much.
Also, thank you to my mom and my sisters for making me feel special too. You are the best.

I was lucky enough to hang out with the Sew Kind of Wonderful girls at the show.  I love you ladies!

6
I made it home in time for Mother's Day.  Clint and the kids spoiled me.  These beautiful Gerber daisies were just what I needed to make me smile.

7
Breakfast.  My cute daughter made this waffle for me.  She is a sweetheart.

Clint and I wanted to take our kids to the Payson Temple Open House.  It is a beautiful temple and I am so glad we made time to go.  This picture of the kids capture their personalities perfectly.  Noah is being difficult, Jonah can't see (the sun is too bright), Micah is the charmer and Lili can't see and struggled to smile for the camera.  I am so grateful for each one of these little people. They make life fun, crazy, interesting and frustrating all at the same time.  I am so glad we get to journey through this life together.

I have been making progress on my Bohemian quilt.  I hope to finish it soon and have patterns out by sometime this summer.  The quilting is turning out to be quite fabulous and I cannot wait to finish it and share it with you.

10
I traveled to Amarillo, Texas last week to teach at the Quilt Finishers of Amarillo Guild. The day was so beautiful when I arrived, I could see for miles because the skies were endless.  It was so incredible.
11
Here's an example of the quilting I shared with the ladies in my classes. These were cut up and given away to some of the lucky ladies in class.

12
It was a wonderful group of ladies and I can't thank you enough for inviting me to come.  Also, thank you Janet for arranging everything and to Angie and Dan for making me feel so welcome and helping with the camera and quilting machine. I had a wonderful time in Texas.

13
I am looking forward to a break from traveling for the next several weeks.  I am happy to say that I have started running again and thankfully the morning sunrise makes it worth the pain.  ;-)

14
I have a lot to accomplish this summer, deadlines to meet - but the best part is doing what I love.  Designing, piecing and quilting - what could be better than that for a profession?

15
Also, we plan on having a fabulous summer with these kiddos.  School is out and they are growing up way too fast.

Until next time. Have a great weekend.
